It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Lawton of Abbeville, South Carolina, who passed away on August 5, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Eugene P. Lawton, Sr.; her parents, Robbie Young and Fannie Lou Wells Young; her son Rocky Lawton; her siblings, Robert 'Bobby W. Young, Jr. and Thelma Lou Campbell; and her brother-in-law Wimp Ferguson.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Chris Lawton (Rachel), Shane Brown (Kimberly), Andy Lawton (Niki) and Jamey Lawton (Melissa); her son Wallace Lawton (Lorene); her granddaughters, Tammy Cobb (Tony) and Gina Beauford (Will); her daughter-in-law Deborah Lawton; her sisters, Judy Ferguson and Joyce Hedden (Ted); and her sister-in-law Frances M. Young. She is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
