He was predeceased by: his parents, William Marvin Giles and Mae Williams Giles; and his siblings, Harold Giles, Hilda Maxwell and Carol Ann Latham.
He is survived by: his wife Ellen Crawford Giles; his children, Buddy Giles (Lisa), Ricky Giles (Sheila), Debby Ramey (Keavin), Sue Simpson (Tim) and Beth Giles; his grandchildren, Christopher Ramey (Allison), Dwane Balchin (Megan), Amy Giles (Josh), Robin McMurtury (Tyler), Tory Satterfield (Ranae), Beth Hagood Robby Satterfield (Jamey), Stephanie Ramey, Alyssa Hayes, Savanna Milford (Andrew) and Rose Linker; his great grandchildren, Aiden Ramey, Ethan Ramey, Alayna Copeland, Emma Kate Copeland, Gracie Gary, Aubree Hagood, Jude Balchin, Eliza Satterfield and Addison Milford; and his daughter Keavin Ramey.
