He was predeceased by: his mother Freeda Perry Redd; his sister Sheila Redd Tripp; and his pet Goliath. He is survived by: his spouse Deri Kay Redd; his children, Candace Miller Eagle (Joey) of Greenwood and Bryson Lawton-Butler (Brian) of Mt. Pleasant; his siblings, Laurie Redd Rush (Bob) of Greenwood, Jeff Redd of Ninety Six and Robert Crosby of Summerville; his grandchildren, Madyson Goldman of Ware Shoals, McKenna Goldman of Ware Shoals, Bailey Butler of San Diego and Blake Butler of San Diego; his brothers-in-law, David Kay and David Tripp; and his pet Sampson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
