She was predeceased by: her husband Donald W. Townes; her parents, William Alton and Della Fountian Sullivan; and her siblings, Jackie Alton Sullivan, William Billy Sullivan and Betty "Sharon" Sullivan.
She is survived by: her children, Robin Jones of Iva, Darlene Latham (Andy) of Iva, Charles William Ashley of Iva and Bobby Joe Loftis, Jr. (Amanda) of Honea Path; her close friend Robert Conlee; and her pets, Lucy and Kitty. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Chandler-Jackson Funeral Home (208 S Main St, Abbeville, SC 29620). A memorial service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
