He was predeceased by: his wife Rebecca Stamps Loftis (Becky); his parents, Leonard Ashley and Emma Ruth Gunnells Loftis; his stepfather Grady Loftis; and his sons, Jimmy Earl Loftis, Jr. and Douglas Franklin Loftis.
He is survived by: his daughters, Amy Loftis Alley of Greenwood and Lorrie Loftis Walters of Abbeville; and his siblings, Bobby Loftis (Kathy) of Ware Shoals, Billy Ray Loftis of Greenwood, Jesse Ashley of Abbeville, Linda Abramson (Murray) of Williamston, Shirley Bell of Honaker, VA, Patsy Ashley of Abbeville and Denise Cooper (Ken) of Abbeville. He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
