He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Chalmas Alewine and Addie Lee Wilson Alewine; and his brother Ben Alewine. He is survived by: his brother David Lee Alewine (Gloria) of Belton; his sister-in-law Peggy Alewine of Level Land; his nephew Roger Alewine (LeeAnn); and his nieces, Rhonda Hardy (Bob) and Cindy Whitfield (Rocky).
