He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil Lawrence Sutton and Doris Kreiger Sutton; and his brothers, Cecil Sutton, Jr., Calvin Sutton, Bud Sutton and Richard'Dick'Sutton.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Sutton; his sons, Gerald D. Jr. (April), Donald Jason (Haley) and David Eric Sutton; his brothers, Bill and Ronnie Sutton; his grandchildren, Samantha (Ech), Devin (Madison), Sydney (Skyler), D. J. (Keri), Ryanne, Wyatt, Jonathan, Joshua, Cheyenne, David Eric Jr. and Darrah; and his great grandchildren, Emerson and Clayton.
