We are sad to announce that on October 7, 2022, Billie Jean Shumate Todd in Abbeville, South Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Millard Shumate and Linda Nixon Shumate; her sons, Danny Johnson and Jimmy Beauford; and her grandsons, Dale Gilmer and Andy Beauford.

She is survived by: her children, Randy Beauford (Kathy) of Abbeville, SC, Glenn Beauford (Hope) of Abbeville, SC, David Yongue (Su) of Oldemar, FL and Mary Gilmer (Thirteen) of Abbeville, SC. She is also survived by Thirteen grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in memory of Billie Jean to Abbeville County Animal Shelter, 79 Old Calhoun Falls Rd, Abbeville, SC 29620.

We were soulmates from the first minute and I knew it after you finished your first story of those pestering boys calling you “shoemaker, make me some shoes” on your first day of school. I asked what would you say to them if they knocked on your door.? You honestly said you would tell them to come in and have a piece of cake. You never met a stranger and certainly made me so thankful to be your girl. I’ll forever be”
