He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Mathews and Evangeline Mathews. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Mathews (Dipallina) of Jana Road; and his children, John J. Mathews, Jr., Larry Mathews and Elsie Mathews. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
