He was predeceased by: his wife Ann Kowal (Ciccolello); and his sister Loretta Miernizak. He is survived by: his son Richard A. Kowal (Laura) of Cranston; his grandchildren, Jessica L. Kowal (Barry) and Shelby M. Boudreaux (Mark); and his great grandchild Jenelle Anne Boudreaux (Palmera Nolan).
