He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara M. Nelson (Porter); his father Charles; and his brothers, Harold, Richard and Warren Nelson.
He is survived by: his children, Joan Bowen (Robert) of Warwick, RI, Linda Tanner (Rick) of East Greenwich, RI and Eric Nelson (Karen) of West Warwick, RI; his grandchildren, Jennifer Macari (Wayne) and Eric Nelson II (Letizia); his great grandchild Brextyn Nelson; and his sister Mildred Brackenbury.
