He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard E. Gare and Donna P. Gare (Leach). He is survived by: his children, Scott A. Hayes of Alabama, Adam J. Hayes (Megan) of Florida and Toni A. Hayes of Florida; his sisters, Melody Welch (Leach) of Rhode Island, Barbara Smith (Leach) of Rhode Island and Lisa Conti (Hayes) of Rhode Island; his goddaughter Kelly A. Almstrom (Smith); and his nephews, Joseph Ryan, James Smith, Austin Conti and Joshua Conti.
