He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Herve Champagne and Bernadette Champagne (Pelletier); his brother Robert Champagne; his sister-in-law Pauline Champagne of Coventry; his children, Thomas Champagne of Asheville, Suzanne Champagne of North Kingstown, David Champagne of Coventry and Marc Champagne; his daughter-in-law Shiela Champagne of West Hartford, Connecticut; his daughter Mary Champagne; his son-in-law Geoffrey Gessner of Baltimore, Maryland.; and his grandchildren, Evan Chaffey (Val Wilkins), Steven, Jessica, Austin Gibree, Luc, Mathieu Champagne, Everett and Ah'leah Companie. He was also cherished by his children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Parkinson's Foundation.
