He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest W. Matthews, Sr. and Shirley Matthews (Knight); and his sister Nancy Palazzo. He is survived by: his wife Charlene L. Matthews; and his siblings, Lewis Matthews, Sandra Austin, Lorraine Ready, Donna Matthews Gabriel, Eileen McNeilis and Delores Lawing. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
