He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Bernardo (Vieira); his parents, Theodore Bernardo and Maria Bernardo (Estrela); his son Eduardo Bernardo; his sibling Gabriele; and his grandson Nicholas Nelson.
He is survived by: his children, Nomezio Bernardo (Ana) of Warwick, Maria Pires of Warren, Eduarda Bernardo of West Warwick, Moses Bernardo of West Warwick, Jose Bernardo of West Warwick and Anthony Bernardo of Warwick; and his siblings, Zelia Correiro, Moises Estrela, Anastacio Bernardo, Manuel and Jose Bernardo.
