He was predeceased by: his father Harry E. Ely; and his brother Harry E. Ely, Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Jean A. Brochu (Pugsley) of Coventry; his children, Cliffany Crutcher, Samantha Ely and Edward H. Ely, Jr.; and his sisters, Sherry Cronshaw, Robin Bennett and Jean Oxx. He is also survived by five grandchildren and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
