Douglas Butterfield Obituary

56, of Providence, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Roger Williams Medical Center, in Providence. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Kenneth V. and Lena (Vellone) Butterfield. An avid reader, Doug loved all kinds of music and was a big fan of John Lennon. He also enjoyed researching the state of Alaska and chemistry.

He was known for his generous heart and kind smile. He leaves his siblings, Denise L. Thomas, of North Kingstown, David M. Butterfield, of East Greenwich, Gordon A. Butterfield, Thomas B. Butterfield, and Ann Butterfield, all of West Warwick; two nieces and nephews; and several grand nieces and nephews. Committal prayers will be offered on Monday , May 4, 2015 at 1:00pm in the Chapel of Saint Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

Visiting hours will be respectfully omitted.
