She was predeceased by: her husband Antonio J. Leonard; her parents, Antonio Tavares and Maria Tavares (Sousa); and her siblings, Manuel Tavares, Antonio Tavares, Louis Tavares, Joseph Tavares, Irene Tavares, Lydia Mendes, Mary Raposo and Angelina Messier.
She is survived by: her sons, Thomas J. Leonard (Beverly), Tony R. Leonard (Carol) and James E. Leonard; her grandchildren, Braden, Treven, Kimberly and Sherilyn; and her great grandchildren, Tony, Maddie and Jensen-Drew.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Prata-Gallogly Funeral Home (78 Providence St, West Warwick, RI 02893). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Anthony Church (1 Sunset Ave, West Warwick, RI 02893). A burial was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 11:15 AM at the Peter & Paul Cemetery (20 Brown St, Coventry, RI 02816).
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hope Alzheimer's Center, 25 Brayton Ave., Cranston, RI 02920, in her memory would be appreciated.
