He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. Cottrell and Viola Cottrell (Rich); and his siblings, Donald L. Gamron, Roger L. Gamron, John R. Cottrell, Dallas J. Cottrell and Edward R. Cottrell.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Cottrell (Karol); his stepdaughters, Nicole M. Norberg (Richard) of Cranston and Kimberly M. Zampini of West Warwick; and his children, Peter W. Cottrell (Holly) of West Warwick, Danita J. Colson (Bob) of Johnston, RI and Deanna J. O'Loughlin (Raymond) of Hot Springs, AR.. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home (659 E Greenwich Ave, West Warwick, RI 02893). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery (301 S County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822-9712).
