He was predeceased by: his wife Karen A. Trainor (McPhillips); and his parents, E. Joseph Trainor and Virginia L. Trainor (Powers). He is survived by: his children, Joseph R. Trainor, Jr. (Leigh) of West Greenwich, Jacqueline S. Trainor (Patrick) of North Kingstown and Kayla D. Martineau (Greg Maw) of East Greenwich; his grandchildren, Amanda Trainor of Prescott Arizona, Alexandra Nelson of Rhode Island, Jack Trainor of Rhode Island, Delaney Trainor of Rhode Island and Samantha Trainor of Rhode Island; his siblings, William Trainor (Madelyn) of San Diego, Paul Trainor of Warwick and Virginia Martinson (Douglas) of Silsbee, TX; his niece Elizabeth; and his nephew Gerald Trainor of California.
