He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl A. Beard and Almeda Beard (Auman); his wife Martha E. Beard (Glassmoyer); his son-in-law Brian Fairtile; and his brother Earl R. Beard.
He is survived by: his pet Emily; his daughters, Linda Fairtile and Elaine Rothermel; his son-in-law John Rothermel; and his grandchildren, Matthew J. Rothermel (Taylor) and Hayley. He is also survived by five nieces and nephews.
