He was predeceased by: his parents, George Stamatakos and Iphigenia Stamatakos (Vavoulis); and his sibling Caliope Sotirakos. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Stamas (Siravo); his children, George Stamatakos (Kimberly), Lee Stamas (Rina) and Andrea Morell; his grandchildren, Adam Stamatakos, Noah Stamatakos, Lee Stamas, Dylan Stamas, Blake Stamas and Maia Morell; his great grandchild Owen George Stamatakos; and his siblings, Nicholas Stamatakos and Bessie Poulos.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.

“Lee, Rina, and Liz, I am absolutely shocked and heartbroken to hear of Leon's passing. I can only say i loved him as friend, and always enjoyed being in his company. And those times were far too few. I know he has a special place in heaven, and that he is holding seats at the table for each of you.
