He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Fitzpatrick and Veronica Fitzpatrick (Crawford); and his siblings, Thomas Fitzpatrick and Margaret Kelleher. He is survived by: his wife Lynne Fitzpatrick (Bartlett); his children, John S. Fitzpatrick (Sandra) of New Haven, CT and Sharon L. Bannister (Joseph) of Warwick, RI.; his grandchildren, Lisa Bannister McAlman, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Alison Fitzpatrick; his great grandchildren, Bruce and Miles McAlman; and his sister-in-law June Fitzpatrick.
He took an active part in his younger grandchildren's lives, with video chats, chess games (via computer during the pandemic), and trips to see their games and performances or attend their birthday parties.
