Robert Keenan wrote a sympathy message

“I was very saddened to learn of the passing of Jim who was my best friend in the good old days of the 50's and 60's . Back then Jim was known as "Pumpsie" to his East Providence and Sacred Heart School buddies. With happy memories I recall the great basketball games in his backyard court at 90 Vine St. Jim was a great guy, a good father, an outstanding athlete, and just a terrific person to have as a friend. God Bless. Bob Keenan”
