He was predeceased by: his mother Luz Iliana Alfaro. He is survived by: his siblings, Linnette (Wayne) of New Orleans, Beatriz of Massachusetts, José María of Madrid and Juan Carlos (Lori) of Rhode Island; and his nieces and nephews, Jessica, Alex, Demian, Andrea, Nicholle, Marcos, Amanda, Alvaro, Borja and Duncan.
