She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Manuel Furtado Ribeiro and Encarnacao Henrique; her goddaughters, Maria, Conceicao "Connie" Perdigao, Fernanda Botelho and Eduarda Ferreira of Canada; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Brittany, Kyle, Brandon, Tyler, Jordan, Taylor and Nathan; and her brothers, Manuel Furtado of New Bedford, Jose Furtado of Hamilton, Canada., Humberto Furtado and Joao Henrique Furtado. She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
