He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Tavares and Mequelina Tavares (Ferreira); and his sister Helena. He is survived by: his wife Leonor Tavares (Diogo); his children, Mary Pavao (Antone), John M Tavares (Michelle) and Delores Albernaz (Alfredo); his sister Odelia Marques; his grandchildren, Jason Pavao, Joshua Pavao, Cheri Levesque, Tiffany Zawerucka and Matthew Albernaz; his great grandchildren, Jack, Cole Pavao, Anakin and Gwenyth Zawerucka; and his siblings, Maria, Joe and Manny. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
