He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel E. Whaley, Sr. and Thelma Whaley (Stone); and his sisters, Harriet Henry and Julia White. He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Whaley (Pierson); his children, Samuel E. Whaley, III (Darlene) and Sharon Gladu (Dennis); his granddaughters, Stephanie Peno (Dustin, Sr.), Jacqueline and Josephine Gladu; his great grandchildren, Dustin Jr., Donovan and Darren; and his brother George Whaley (Karen).
