He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Patricia Schecher (Sullivan); his parents, Norbert Schecher and Mary Frances Schecher (Kelly); and his brother Norbert. He is survived by: his sons, Norbert (Ana) of Smithfield and James Schecher (Gina) of Franklin, MA; his grandchildren, David, Briana (Damian Walsh), Vanessa, Cristina and Timothy; his great grandchildren, Jayden and Juliana; and his brother James Schecher.
