He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Garriepy and Ruth Garriepy (Hamel); his wife Cynthia Garriepy (DesCoteaux); his son Robert T. Garriepy II; his brother William Garriepy; his grandson Adam Nixon; and his great grandchild Kaydence Tingle.

He is survived by: his daughters, Darlene Czarcinski (Michael) of Honolulu, Kimberly LeBeau (Brian) of Warwick and Susan Nixon (Alan) of Warrenton; and his grandchildren, Jessica Tingle, Kimberly Bezenek, Courtney Lussier, Michael Robert Czarcinski, Nicole Engelhardt, Kyle Czarcinski and Joshua Nixon.
