Richard D. Maltais Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard D. Maltais (Smithfield, Rhode Island), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 18, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Richard shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Richard farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Maltais and Anna Maltais Mellom (Simoneau); and his siblings, Albert Maltais and Dorothy Johnston. He is survived by: his wife Mildred Y. Maltais (Shepard); and his daughters, Susan Ascoli (Tom) of Warwick, Linda Adams (Jim) of Scituate and Marilyn Murray (Bob) of Westport, MA. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a great great grandson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Michael's Church (80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, March 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
