With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Karen Lee Mathurin of Smithfield, Rhode Island, born in Westerly, Rhode Island, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 12, 2024. In the vast expanse of eternity, Karen Lee shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Karen Lee farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Edward O. Mathurin and Doris A. Mathurin (Kosa) of Smithfield; her siblings, Dawn Gensel (Peter) of Glocester and Edward O. Mathurin, Jr. of Belchertown, MA; her nephews, Kurt and Ryan Gensel; her great-niece Jaxon; and her great-nephew Shelby.
