With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John W. Steere Jr. of Smithfield, Rhode Island, born in Providence, Rhode Island, who passed away on February 14, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though John may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He is survived by: his children, Alison Steere of East Greenwich and Thomas Steere; his daughter-in-law Ashley Steere of Warwick; his son Luis Steere; his daughter-in-law Christina Steere of Pawtucket; and his sister Eliza Zulli (Steere) of Newark, DE..
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home (2 Church St, Greenville, RI 02828).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the URI College of Engineering in his memory.
