He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Comello and Marietta Comello (DeMarco); and his sister Mary. He is survived by: his wife Ruth C. Comello (Hinckley); his children, John W. Comello, Jr. of North Providence, Alan A. Comello (Kristen Boie) of North Scituate and Susan Principe (Joseph) of Foster; his grandchildren, Joseph and Jessica Principe; his great grandchild Caleb; and his siblings, Rita Clara, Ann, Anna, Albert and Anthony.
