He was predeceased by: his spouse Joan L. Grist (Fortin); his parent Benjamin Grist; and his sibling Harold Grist. He is survived by: his parent Carrie Grist (Lawton); his sons, Donald Grist (Diane) of Smithfield and David Grist; and his sibling Warren Grist. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
