She was predeceased by: her parents, Camille "Red" Durand and Katherine Gorman Durand. She is survived by: her husband Senator William V. Irons; her daughters, Joan Cronin (Pat), Sarah Irons and Katherine Sudol (Brad); her siblings, Barbara Traverse (Stan), Joe Durand and Beth; and her sister-in-law Evelyn Bain. She is also survived by grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rock Steady Boxing, 2240 South County Trail, East Greenwich, RI, an organization that supports those dealing with Parkinson's, a community that holds a special place in her family's hearts.
