He was predeceased by: his wife Ruth E. Slater (Field); his parents, Michael P. Sr. Slater and Ada Slater (McMahon); his granddaughter Sarah E. Turner; his brother Paul Slater, Jr.; and his brother-in-law Gerald Dowling.

He is survived by: his daughters, Mary Regina Slater (John Menissian) of Rumford and Catherine O'Brien (James); his grandchildren, Ronald Turner of Maine and Kylie Turner; his sister Mary Regina "Polly" Dowling; his caregivers, Glendy, Maria, Suset and Elizabeth; and his friend Stacy Strife. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
