He was predeceased by: his spouse Laurinda D. Costa (Diogo); and his parent Francisco Costa. He is survived by: his parent Maria Costa; his children, Margaret L. Costa (John Manopoli) of Jamaica Plain, MA, Susan L. Costa (John Lawrence) of Columbia, MD, Elizabeth M. Costa (Harry Smith) of Jamaica Plain, MA, Daniel L. Costa (David Collins) of Stonington, CT and Thomas P. Costa (Margaret Costa) of Rumford, RI.; his grandchildren, Hilary Costa, Sean Klipple, Erin Klipple, Paul Costa, Mary Costa, Laura Costa, Elizabeth Costa, John Dimas Costa, Liliana Costa-Smith, Elena Costa-Smith and Isabel Costa; his sister Lydia Rusnock; and also, Jean Patefield Costa and Gloria Costa (Arruda).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care of RI or the Alzheimer's Association.
