Virginia W. McCoy Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Virginia W. McCoy of Riverside, Rhode Island, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 23, 2025 at the age of 85. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Virginia W. McCoy to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her husband William Daniel McCoy; her parents, John P. Wayland, Sr. and Bernice Wayland (O'Neil) of Barrington; her brother Dennis J. Wayland, Sr.; her friend Claire L. Wayland; and her siblings-in-law, Joyce Hupper, Joanne Haussermann, Jean Herring, John Hupper and Arthur Haussermann.
She is survived by: her siblings, John P. Wayland, Jr. of Narragansett and Margaret M. Powers (Donald) of Barrington; and her godchildren, John P. Wayland III, Kathryn Powers and Maggie Jane Peterson. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, and a bonus grandmother to her grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home (350 Willett Ave, Riverside, RI 02915). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Luke's Church (108 Washington Rd, Barrington, RI 02806).
