She was loved and cherished by many people including: her spouse Houghton P. Metcalf; and her children, Stephen A. Metcalf of Providence, Katharine Sheldon and Sheila Cronin.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Nature Conservancy of Rhode Island and the Rhode Island School of Design Museum Conservation Fund.
