He was predeceased by: his parents, Alphonse Edmund Poirier and Elizabeth "Betty" Smith; and his brother Edward Poirier. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Murphy; his sons, Robert (Deborah), Thomas (Dianne) and William (Martha); and his grandchildren, James, Ryan, Hannah and Matthew (Katherine).
