He was predeceased by: his wife Theresa K. Hudson; his mother Helen M. Hudson; and his sister Linda Ferland. He is survived by: his close friend Patricia Brown; and his children, Richard A. Hudson, Patricia Hudson Brown, Michelle Brown and Scott Hudson Brown. He is also survived by grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
