Matthew M. Clarkin Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Matthew M. Clarkin (Providence, Rhode Island), who passed away on March 20, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Winifred Clarkin (Hayden); his parents, Matthew A. Clarkin and Elsie A. Clarkin (Hanes); his siblings, Patricia MacLellan, Rosemary Clarkin, Robert Clarkin and Alan Clarkin; and his siblings-in-law, Grant MacLellan, James Diggins and Delia Clarkin.
He is survived by: his siblings, Elsie Diggins, William Clarkin (Elizabeth) and Daniel Clarkin (Maureen); and his friend Myra Gillen. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 8:15 AM to 10:00 AM at the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home (331 Smith St, Providence, RI 02908). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Robert Bellarmine Church (1804 Atwood Ave, Johnston, RI 02919).
