She was predeceased by: her parents, Manuel Sousa and Nicolina Sousa (Melo); and her siblings, Lourdes Boavida, Armanda Silveira and Adelaide Alexander.
She is survived by: her husband Hilario Carvalho; her son Everett Carvalho of East Providence; and her sisters, Fernanda Melo and Susan Ascenio. She is also survived by two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
