He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Heron and Ethel Heron (Garner); and his siblings, Robert, Richard Heron and Judith Sova.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra J. Heron (Potts); his children, Joseph A. Heron, Jr., Christopher Heron, Michael Heron, Greg Heron and Diane Heron Andrade; his stepsons, William and Robert Carreira; his grandchildren, Justin, Ryan, Meghan, Korey, Mikayla, Kelsea, Kyra, Morgan, Christopher, Ava and Deanna (Kira); his great grandchildren, Justin, Julia, Nathaniel, Rylie, Ryan and Marley; and his siblings, Jack Heron, Jane Robillard, Joan Lewis, Jeffrey Heron, James Heron and Jerry Heron. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
