It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph A. Chazan MD in Providence, Rhode Island, born in Rochester, New York, who passed away on July 26, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Chazan and Yetta Chazan; and his wife Helene. He is survived by: his close friend Vicki Veh; his children, Michael (Leslie) of Providence, Kathy (Tony) of Newton and Kimberly (John) of Providence; his grandsons, Jason (Leslie), Bradley (Amanda), Alex (Kathryn), Tyler (Sydney), Nate (Abby), Ben (Drew) and Blake (Clayton); and his great grandchildren, Grace, James and Leo. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Temple Beth-El of Providence, 70 Orchard Avenue, Providence, RI 02906, The Visual Arts Fund at the Rhode Island Foundation, One Union Station, Providence, RI 02903 and WaterFire Providence, 475 Valley Street Providence, RI 02908.
