He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillian Murphy (Marks) and John Joseph Murphy; his sister Karen M. Murphy; his nephew John Francis King; and his niece Donna Hammerstein.

He is survived by: his spouse Alveretta Murphy (Tupper); his sister Carole Lueders (Murphy) of Sandown; his nephew CJ King of Nebraska; and his nieces, Kacie King of Belgium and Kim Stephen of New Hampshire.
