He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie L. Coney and Alice B. Coney Gould (Simpkins); and his siblings, Nathaniel Coney, Esther Coney and Travis Coney.
He is survived by: his husband Rod; his stepfather W. Ronald Gould; his uncle Willie Coney, Sr. (Rose); his siblings, Charlie Coney, Jr. (Rose), Nathaniel Nelson (Selena), Catherine Rogers-Burrell and Cheryl Harmon; and his aunt Patricia Gould. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as his husband.
During the pandemic, he fulfilled a longtime dream of learning to play the violin.
