Dell G. Padgett Obituary
We are sad to announce that on April 30, 2024, at the age of 87, Dell G. Padgett of Providence, Rhode Island, born in Carolina, Rhode Island passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, O'Dell Padgett and Ethel Padgett; and his sisters, Mary Pippens, Josie Ellison, Sarah Etchison and Judy Padgett.
He is survived by: his wife Velma Padgett; and his children, Dell Padgett (Wanda) of Providence, RI and Michelle Padgett of Pawtucket, RI. He is also survived by granddaughter, a great-granddaughter, a multitude of nieces and nephews, and many friends.
He used his photography to document the black experience in Rhode Island during his lifetime, and he donated his negatives and photos theBlack Heritage Society of Rhode Island.
