He was predeceased by: his parents, Luigi Nicola and Sheila Mae Avarista (McFarlane); and his brother Daniel J. Avarista. He is survived by: his wife Lori K. Avarista (Goldstein); his sons, David P. Avarista, Jr. of Providence and Seth J. Avarista (Kitzia Santana Reyes) of Providence; and his siblings, Joseph M. Avarista (Marilia) of East Providence, Paul G. Avarista of Pawtucket and Sandra A. Simoneau of Smithfield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
